That's an Amish Dahlia. The puffy parts are pieced into it making kind of a 3-D effect.. here's another example. http://www.amishcountrylanes.com/Pages/hs1895.shtml. If you look at the close up you'll see the gathered "petals".

I beleive it is the Amish Dahlia. the gathers are intended but not the points cut off. I love this pattern and I just bought a top from an Amish sale this summer.
This is a peiced one, Not quite the same but you get the idea.

I got a security warning from AVG for that site. Anyone else? I went ahead and just closed the window but I think I'll do a system scan now just in case.

The Lemoyne Star is what it looks like to me and useing a stack n' whack methos or fussy cutting. It also looks like they might have maybe stuffed it a little to give it that 3d effect but i am a newbie so don't know much

Never mind-I don't think it was that site. I was moving some files and apparently one triggered a false alarm.

I went to the Amish Country Quilts site and saw some breathtaking quilts! This was taken from their site...it's your quilt in a different color!
It is called the dahlia quilt.
