    It looks like a Dresden plate, but instead of applique to background, backing is cut same shape of Dresden plate with 1/4" added for seam allowance. And, then birthing method of adding backing.

    I don't think we can see the center, that circle looks like the base of the 3rd candle.

    If you look at the green piece behind the left hand black bit, you can see the green is really one piece, a border print of some kind, there is more green activity at the right end of the "green" piece.

    It's either a dif section of the same print as the 3rd fabric, or a co-ordinating fabric.

    I have this pattern....I made it for Christmas gifts one year....essentially its a Dresden plate

    I'm thinking it is the basic Dresden Plate pattern that instead of rounding the ends, you cut your sections longer and cut the ends straight across. You fold the section in half (right sides together) and stitch a 1/4 inch seam from the side to the center fold. When you turn the section right side out you have a perfect 45º point. You do all the spines the same way and then sew them together.

    pointed dresden plates. the easiest to do as far as i'm concerned.
    here is a site that shows how to do the point. not the size you need but the pics help.
