    Default Haven't even started yet...

and already spent probably 8 hours deciding on fabrics!! I spent time yesterday and today looking over who-knows-how-many thousands of batiks. I've changed my mind many times, adding and subtracting, until I came up with this. Can't guarantee that I won't change my mind again before I place the order either. :P

I have a slightly different set of the six amber fabrics, not as orange, more peach and lighter. I keep waffling back and forth because I'm not super crazy about the orange look. I think that's called letting a design simmer until the correct fabrics percolate to the top. I also have in mind doing a more Blue/Yellow scheme instead of Purple/Orange.

This is for a Judy Neimeyer's Prairie Star pattern.

I love the colors! Purple and orange go so well together. You could also go towards tan rather than peach if you don't want the orange tones. I think that pattern would look great in blues/yellows too. As long as you have enough contrast, it should look great in many different color combinations. Your quilts prove you've got a great eye for color...I'm sure you will pick out the perfect ones!

These are the other six. Just not sure yet on whether there is enough contrast with the background beige, that's my concern. Remembered that when I got a whole bunch of batiks, just because, I do think I have several of the amber/purple ones. I liked them then and I do like them now.

I think it will be ok with the first selection.

Beautiful choices!! You may just have to "Just Order It" otherwise you'll keep changing up and will never get to start the project. That will be a Stunning Prairie Star when you are finish!!! Keep us up to date.

I think your color choices are fabulous and can't wait to see the finished product. Not rushing you, though!

I placed the order but not for all of it.... Expensive!! I got the 6 ambers since they are retired, two of the creams that are retired, and 3 of the darks that are also retired. The others are basic handpaints and mottles and the pretty standard cream on black. I'll get the others when I can and certainly have a lot of other things to work on before starting this huge project.

Beautiful fabrics and that pattern is spectacular.
