all of the good adjectives have already been used...and they are all correct!! You must be so proud of that quilt. What a wonderful completed year long project.

    Thank you...

Mpspeedy...if it were hand quilted...I'd be working on it for many, many more years. I wish I had..but I really wanted to finish it to make sure my DH got to enjoy it... Although, as honery as he has been today..I'm sure he'll be around for a long, long, long time...   (and I'm sooo glad about that!)

It's very beautiful. did you do anything special when you took the pic to get the quilting to show up so nicely?

I try to make sure I only take pictures in that particular spot at a certain time of day. The light from the window is coming in at a slight angle and it makes the quilting show up when I stand at the correct angle from the quilt. When you are trying to get quilting stitches to show up in pics, it seems to work better when you shoot from an angle and also when the light is coming from either side..not front on (like a flash)... Plus....I just happened to be lucky

Thank you! I started with the floral focus inside the star block. The rest were some FQ's I had on hand, a FQ set from Connecting Threads and the rest were from the only fabric store within miles of the hospital where DH was staying.  The background is a marble fabric. And your last question....a pattern that has a billion 1 1/2" HST's that I'm about halfway through making right now
