Don, I'm also diabetic and can attest that if we don't take care of ourselves we can't work or do our fun projects. If you're like me, I keep trying to push myself, but if I'd give it a rest for a few days & quit stressing I'd feel better sooner.
Do you work a regular job? If so, try to pace yourself throughout the day, eat smaller meals to keep your blood sugar more even and try not to eat too much sugar, white flour, etc. Don't forget to take your meds.
I just had bilateral total knee replacements, had bad stomach problems, H. pylorus bacteria (causes ulcers) in Rehab & just pushed them to release me so I could come home. I've had Home Health Nurse, Physical Therapist & Bath Aide for a few weeks. Should be release real soon, then to Outpatient Therapy. I live alone & Rehab was so noisy I couldn't sleep. We have to learn our bodies & what it will accommodate. We have to advocate for ourselves and try different approaches if Plan A & B aren't working.
I'll keep you in my thoughts & prayers.
