This is my first time posting a picture. I started quilting only about 2 years ago. I just finished this top and it took me 55 hrs. and I want to put a nice back on it. I would like y'all's opinion on how you would do it. And would you stitch in the ditch. I want a quilting machine so bad I can taste it. Please help me decide, I was thinking White, nah, then orange, humm, help please

What about small checks. The quilt is just darling and checks would keep in the mood of the quilt. I am even imagining big blocks of different colored checks. Yes it is really a very special quilt and deserves a special backing

I would choose a color, not white,to give it even more zip and character. The quilt is so cute and backings are a very important addition and lots of fun to choose.

I would choose a print or floral fabric that has many of the colors of the SB blocks. As for quilting, I think your blocks deserve more than SID.

Maybe take a extra block and scrap of your batting to the store with you. Audition some backings and see if they show through your batting and block :D:D:D

I think I'd pick a color and then have a pattern on it for sure.. not solid. Cute quilt. Are you sending it out to get machine done or trying to do it yourself? If you can afford it an overall stipple would be so nice. I am fortunate to have a lady here who does beautiful work and is very reasonable. I have done the baby quilts and art quilts myself but would never attempt this one being so big. SO much work went into this ... it deserves more than stitch in the ditch in my H O:) Nice job !!
