So I'm making a quilt for my neighbor for Christmas, he used to be a bricklayer so I made him a brick quilt. I need help picking a backing though as I'm debating between 2. Which one would do you like better??

    the whole quilt

usually I decide what color thread I am using, the decide whether I want it to show or not. That gives me a clue to the backing.

Hand quilting--boy I admire you doing that.

I guess I am odd man out, but I like the one on the left. With all of the rectangular shapes on the front of the quilt, I think something of a different shape for the back would be nice. I admire your handpieceing.
