    I would use the star for a different quilt and make a car quilt. If you put the car fabric on the back, he will never see the star.

    My first thought would be to use the cars on the back. That way, everyone else can look at the star while he looks at the cars!

    I would go with the red as you've shown us , it makes a world of difference , and more suitable for a little boy , great job on the hole quilt .. looks great keep up you good work. ,

    Another suggestion -- A nice 3" red border around the star. Then a border of the cars with only 4" on the sides but 12-15" top and bottom. Then the blue border also making the top and bottom larger than the sides. I might even bind it with the red to pull it together. A thought!

    I was thinking to use the cars on the back also. I like the polka dots fabric as the main border.

    I would use the car print for the backing. It does look a little busy with the other fabrics, but it would be a perfect for a back. That way, he would have something to like on both sides.

    I like it better with the orange around the star. Keeps it bright to me. The red seems to dull the star down.
