I think this is really pretty. No accounting for taste, I guess:) As far as working with colors/fabric that you don't like, I can relate. I made a NASCAR themed quilt for my DS! Imagine the black and white checks, red, green, orange. Plus panels of 2 different drivers and their numbers. OMG!
I tried to really just go with the theme and do the best I could. I also did FMQ on it. I honestly don't know if he liked it or not. It was a gift and it is gone. Good Luck!

I love batiks and I think these are stunning colors. I bet before you finish it, you'll love it. Just remember, we are all different, and how boring it would be if we all did the same color of the same quilt. Great pattern, and great colors.

These two colors are my new favorite color combos!! I saw this in a bag and just fell in love with the two colors together! Please finish it for her! If you only do a couple a day, could you stomach it? If I were making this quilt it would definitely be MY quilt. Wouldn't give this one away.

I lovve it...I myself am not a fan of aqua or batiks but i really like the combination in this block.
As for you hating it...you have to make up your mind and just make it. In the past i have made a couple of things for my sister she wanted but i thought they were awful. But when i gave it to her the look of pure joy and love on her face made it worth every minute i dreaded working on it. I would make it again if it would make her happy. Just remember the sooner you get it done the sooner you don't have to look at it.
