Your finished quilt will not look like the picture you sent...because your fabrics are gorgeous! Maybe make one block a day and like someone said, have a picture of your sister nearby to remind you of why you're making it. Before you know it, all your blocks will be finished and you'll be ready to put it together. Be sure to show us when you're done!

I know exactly what you mean. It's hard to work on something when you don't love the fabric (made one and gave it away) Can you do a few blocks at a time? Then work on something that you really love?
Even though it may not be pretty now, once all the blocks are together it'll be a show stopper I bet!

i have made tons of bow tucks for customers and have not always liked their pick of fabrics.. but it was not for me..i had to remember it was for them.
in the end... it was exactly what they wanted...
i think its a pretty combo of colors... keep posting!

Keep going. You may be surprised with the end result. Its for your sister and she likes it so I would finish it. I know it's hard to work on something you dont like but I think it will grow on you after you have made a few more blocks and put them together.

I like the idea of working on it in stages as someone else suggested. I agree it's hard to work on something you don't like so maybe you could alternate your sister's quilt with something you really like working on??
By the way your work is fantastic!!!!!!!! :D:D

The quilt that you showed the picture of have very contrasting fabrics, while the ones you are working on have not much contrast at all. Have you considered a black sashing around each square to add some definition to each block? You may like it more as you see it shaping up.

You can do it! I'm not a big fan of batiks either and I had to do a project with pastels once, I REALLY dislike pastels, but I kept thinking, it's like going to the dentist, it will be over soon and then I can move on with my life. And your SIL is gonna love it!
