The colours work with your DWR ... it is really up to you, as to whether it's what you want or not.
I probably wouldn't choose it myself ... though I'd probably like it if I saw it done up.
If you decide not to use it for your backing, what I do see ... is a fabric that'd be perfect for a OBW!!
So regardless, it's a win-win!

I think it's great counter to the traditional, predominately off-white front.
I always think of the turn down.
It's a lovely surprise.
You've got enough off-white empty space on the front.
And it picks up all the colors in your rings.

The photo makes it look busy next to the top, but since you want to use it for backing only, I think it would be just fine. It does go very well with the colors and fabric prints on the front. A nice solid binding (maybe dark green?) would be perfect.

Although it is probably not a fabric I would have thought to use I think I like the idea of the surprise backing. Depending on the quilting the quilt will be reversible but I am sure that you won't be putting your beautiful DWR face down.

I like it. My only concern would be, will it show through the batting to the front? You've put a lot of work into the top and I think the pattern showing through in the white sections would spoil it for me. Try a section with the batt you want to use and see if it shadows.
