Here is an attempt to make a Christmas mug rug....but as you can see the binding that I bought is to wide. So, any suggestions from the experts? TIA for any help.

If you like the color - you can open the binding and press it flat.
Then you can trim it to the width you want.

Ths fabrics are great. I would make my own binding with one of the prints. I hardly ever use packaged binding if I have enough if the fashion fabrics. Just an idea. Either wayit will be beautiful

So, you would use one of the lighter colors for the binding?

I think self binding with one of the lighter prints would make the whole rug pop.

That's a cutie! I'd use one of the reds from the mug rug fabrics and make my own binding. I like a little darker colors on my mug rugs because coffee/tea etc will eventually be SPLASHED on them...LOL So.. I'd go with the red and not the lighter fabric. Your fabrics are festive!

I did the same thing. If you cut it in two, it will be the perfect width, and you will have enough to do several.
