    I love this pattern. I had never seen it before either. It is adorable! Good job! I will be looking forward to seeing the finished quilt. I don't like when someone tells me I CAN'T do something. That gets under my skin and then I do my best to DO the thing they told me I couldn't do. Make sense? Way to go!

    That is the cutest shirt block pattern I have ever seen. It's disappointing to hear that her own SIL just said no and wouldn't even try making the pattern, especially in her brother's memory, and being an "experienced" quilter. You should be commended on helping her make this memory quilt. As you said you are both having fun getting together once a week to work on this quilt - it is absolutely adorable. You have forged a stronger friendship and perhaps "given birth" to a new quilter.
