If you have allergies and asthma like I do be sure you use a mask before you spray that glue. I got really sick using it. I usually just take all the pieces to my quilter and she puts it all together on her 14 footer..Great quilter!

Log cabin?? that is simply beautiful.

Can someone help me? I am completing my quilt top. I have 12 blocks and I want to put a border around each one then sew them together. Yes, I am a total beginner.

Mikki...cut strips the correct length to match the sides of your blocks and however many you will need to have 1 to go between every 2 blocks...for instance..if your blocks are 12 1/2 "...and you have 4 blocks going across in a row...then cut 3 strips 12 1/2" long by however wide you want them...2" wide sashing???..cut them 2 1/2". (the 1/2" will be taken up with seam allowances on either side)

Step 2...sew a strip to a block..repeat....until your row is sewn together

Step 3...measure the length of the row..add 1/2" to each end for seam allowances..

Step 4..cut your strips for the horizontal sashing...

Step 5...sew the already sewn row to the strip...repeat and your top is done!

    Good luck!

I think basting does help and that is what they tell you in most good quilting how to books. Dressmakers have to do this to get the sleeves in correctly or in sewing pleats and gathers.
Then use a wlking foot to make sure you have both fabrics moving together under your needle.
    Good luck!

I can't offer any help, because I have the same problem with putting the "sandwich" together. But I just want to say that the dimension in your quilt top is awesome. Great job !!
