    There is a little trick to make the selvege easier to work with. I would go for it. It you ever have to use a selvege edge in a project you can...
    after you sew the seam clip the selvege about every one to two inches along the seam and about half the depth of the selvege. This will release the tension of the selvege so it will lie flatter and not pucker when quilting. Hope this helps a little for future projects. Your quilt is very nice and I love how it all works together.
