Thanks, but believe me...I'm just lucky this year. Last yr., the garden was terrible...the crows ate every corn seed I planted and I planted it 3 times! This year, everything is fine except my peppers. I have nice tall plants, but the leaves have looked shrively (I'm sure that is not a word-sorry all you teachers 8) ) and they will look like they are going to bloom, then..No.

Miranda, hopefully your pumpkins are mixed with your other viney things. I haven't messed with that type of stuff very much other than to throw the watermelon and cantaloupe mess over the fence. sometimes it will come up in the field...last yr...it did and we ate a few cantaloupes  . Mostly, the cows eat it before it gets to that point.

I'm sure given the right time..all of you gardens will be spectacular! Good luck with them!

Ahh thanks sandpat!! I'll keep holding out hope then
I lost one bell pepper plant totally (dang that wascally wabbit!) one keeps mysteriously having leaves from just one side dissappear, but the other four look to be doing very well. The Robins seem to LOVE swisschard and my poor turnip greens, well...lets have a moment of silence for them LOL. I still think I should tether the owl that lives in the tree outside my apartment to the scarecrow the girls made. Bet that rabbit wouldn't be sooo very brave then huh!!

jbsstrawberry, I've told you about my crow vs. corn trouble of last year. Here's my secret for defeating them...I put out "Slim" (my scarecrow) of course, but I also added some fence posts on each end of the garden that lined up with my corn rows. I tied some long strings between the posts, then tied Walmart plastic bags to the strings so that they would flop and flutter in the wind. It must have worked!

 Since I now bragged on my winning the battle, I can just see those crows plotting with all their heads together to beat me next year.

LOL You're probably right on the plotting little boogers  We didn't put corn out this year...really there wasn't enough room. I have the cutest scarecrow that my sister helped my youngin's make, but I think she (yes the girls said its a she) must just be too cute. The doggon birds land on her arms then dive for my greens LOL. I put a whole crop of shiney pinwheels out, they help some until the wind stops blowing.
