    Did you hand-sew or machine sew the hexagons together?

    How did you plan/draft the design?

    it's done mostly by machine. i made big sections. it's easier to stitch those together by hand. i assembled the big sections both ways. i wanted to prove to myself that i could do big sections by machine.

    i knew i wanted to use hexagons, but that it shouldn't be a Grandmother's Garden. i needed something less feminine. i searched for a simple layout and found one that used "diamonds". i adapted that layout for this quilt.
