    Default Hexie 5" quilt

Here is a pix of my 5" Hexie. I know I won't do that big of a quilt with Y seams again.20220917_105330.jpg

Beautiful! I have had a large hexi quilt on my wish list for some time, I may have to move it up the list after seeing this gorgeous quilt! Well done.

How our opinions differ. I love your quilt and have wanted to make one with large hexies for a long time. The hexies in my quilt were about 1.75" and I found it very theraputic joining those Y seams, not having to think about anything else. Took me months to finish but I really enjoyed the experience. Now after seeing yours, perhaps I will be inspired to make my larger pieced quilt next.

Pretty quilt. Congratulations for getting it done and off your bucket list. Have never attempted a hexigon quilt, but if I did I would use the half hexie template and have the straight seam across mine. Less frustrating than Y seams

I've never done hexies before, but have done "Y" seams, but your quilt is beautiful. I love your color combinations.

Oh, by the way, I used all scraps for this quilt. Not little scraps but bigger pieces left over from previous quilts. I think my stash actually went down after this project. Kind of wanted this to be my summer quilt on my bed.

Y seams are not terrible, just time consuming I guess. Now hex's, I do half hex's. much easier to put together in rows, no Y seams. you might look up half hex rulers.

That is a very pleasing mix of scraps. Really nice. I am with you; after making one quilt with Y seams (Hollow Star pattern) never again!
