    We call it a "summer " quilt in the North too! I have 2 from my great great aunt and great grandmother who were from Philadelphia - no batting - just top and backing

    Minkee is that super soft, fleece type fabric with dots/bumps on it, may come in other varieties these days. Kind of stretchy and can be harder to work with than regular cotton, but this one cooperated pretty good with me! I think it knew that I was at the end of my rope!
