    Wow Kassaundra, this is such a fresh and innovative way to use the OBW/Hexi technique. I can see this design/layout working well with any number of prints and colors but I really like what you did with the fabric you had. So many wonderful bits of eye candy in this, the fussy cut center hexi, your use of solid fabric diamonds (or fabric that reads solid) to frame each hexi, the smaller single hexi "beads" between each row of the bigger ones, the simple walking foot quilting to emphasize the design and that back! Wow I so love how you appliqued a circle of the stripe going perpendicular to the stripes. This is a winner in every way. And thank you for so generously telling us what size strips you used and the picture of the original fabric.

    BTW, your octagon blocks are totally awesome as well and, IMHO, deserve their own topic as so many people tend to not go through the entire topic to see all the posts and may very well miss those.
