Looks like a lot of work and effort was put into that quilt. Think you met the challenge.

Every other year our guild has our quilt show and we get the Hoffman challenge quilts and dolls. So hopefully I'll get to see your wallhanging, because it looks like a winner to me.

Breezy Oriental Pond Hoffman Challenge 2008 Original Design by Denise Mayer Group Denise and neices Abby and Alex
    Our label info
Denise created the design using her backyard as a pattern. The girls are 16 and 13 and added elements as the quilt progressed, an uncle's/brother's Japanese Kimono inspired the back of the quilt.
This is the first attempt at a lanscape quilt and machine quilting. Sewing and quilting was done by Denise, Abby did fusing while Alex did fussy cutting, We loved the peacock fabric.
A challenge is using a specific fabric to make a quilt. Different challenges have different rules.

The gloves are cure for cancer garden gloves and I could really tell if I was not wearing them the fabric did not move very well for quilting. We had a surprise birthday celebration for dkbeck, if you notice the cake it has a quilted look. She also got 2 storage containers for her quilt room.Alex is the girl on the right. I have to find Abby's picture. The other girl in the picture is their older sister.

peacock didn't show up without an outline

this material reminded me of my hostas.

I loved the way the quilting showed up on the blue kimono.
