Well, my hubby want's to say thanks for giving him yet another project on his to do list. I LOVE IT!!!!!!
I am thinking this will do great with my Flynn Frame and I can do away with the round PVC guids it comes with. At the last quilting show I went to they had something like this and the cost was CRAZY HIGH. This is something hubby can do with the scrap wood we already have. Great idea and thanks so much for sharing.

You are so right, hubby is making mine as I type. Really!!! quilting sideways is really, really easy and it gives you a lot more room on each side, not much need to roll it. I love it, but, then I use the Flynn Frame and you have to quilt sideways like a LH machine. Try it, you'll like it.

Looking at it, you could do it without cutting a hole. Just two pieces of wood the same size and the join it up with a thin bit of ply at the top. The two legs underneath would be used to pin the ply on top with naills, do you think that would work? It would mean I would need to think about using a power tool. I am going to go have a look what I have in the basement.

Ah, ha!...I have an old metal office desk I plan to discard. It has a great formica top. I think I can save the top to make something like this. The strange thing is that I was thinking recently if my machine were turned sideways, it would be easier to quilt on.

This is interesting. I always knew we have some great innovative quilters around. hehehehehe am going to try the quilting sideways now and see if I can get it right. Also hubby has a nice new job to do. hehehe
