    Default Hoover Replica Quilt...pieced and quilted by Cedar Valley Quilts

    This is the replica quilt we made for the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library. The original quilt was pieced by President Hoover's great-grandmother and is dated from approximately 1860. We used reproduction civil war fabric that closely matched the original, and Kevin quilted it with a cross hatch design. The library is having an exhibit this summer, and this will be in it

    Wonderful to see how the cross hatching enhances the quilt. There is a lot of elaborate quilting done, which is beautiful on it's own but sometimes the simpler quilting leaves our eyes free to enjoy the pattern and colors.
