    Quilt Mom,
Would you ALSO teach me how to make those, I have always tried not to cut too much fabric off with my selvages, but now maybe I won't be quite so stingy.

Yes Quilt Daughter, I can show you how to do this.

I've decided that when I start a quilt, especially if I am going to strip piece, I will measure the fabrics across the width. Cut the selvages off so they will all be the same width. Them I should have lots more usable selvages.
There really isn't any need for having one piece of fabric that measures 43 in. and another 42 or 41, might as well trim them all to the same size.

I have decided to cut selvages that way too. I have seen ideas for using the plain piece of selvage much as one uses the printed edge. Why not use it too?????:)
