Ann K, your kitty looks like my Reggie. Except he does not get to go out.

Our driveway (about 1/8 mile) is a sheet of ice. DH walked up the drive just to have something to do. I did laundry and sewed all day yesterday. Plan to sew all day today too. And tomorrow if we still can't get out. Hardest part of my day will be deciding what to cook for dinner.
I had all this fleece because originally the plan was to use the fleece for backing on 5 quilts. Just as I had all the fabrics, patterns in mind, etc. I was given the blessing of caring for 3 grandchildren for the school year while Dad was in Afghanistan. So no sewing for a year. By that time the children had grown, favorite colors changed, etc. So that 5 kids are all getting big bed quilts and I used the fleece as blankets.

Lots of times I use fleece for the applique ... but this time I used scraps of cotton fabrics instead.

Summer, my cat, is technically a house kitty. She only goes out on the patio with supervision.

Ooh! Lovely blankets and quilt. I especially noticed the fleece blanket which appears bound. I will have to try that. I have to date just turned a narrow hem on my fleece blankets. Love the look of the binding. Did you bias cut it? Penny

Yes, it was bias cut and left over from another quilt I made a few years ago. If the blanket was square, it would not have needed to have bias cut binding ... but because I curved the corners a bias cut binding worked better.

I just sewed it on, folded over and stitched with a feather stitch to catch all the edges and hide the seam. I have coordinating scraps of Winnie the Pooh fabric to make appliques if I wanted. Still thinking about that.
