just finished 'Nine and vines' quilt and as I am cleaning it (removing threads) and starting to do final ironing I am not sure how to iron the blocks. see picture.

red and green block, if I iron one way, then if there is uneven edge the color might show through on top.
Do I snip the seam? and iron in 9 patch direction away from the solid block?

    thanks

I would iron away from the white blocks because your colors will show through when quilted. I love the quilt and esp the flowers in the boarders. Is that from a pattern? I'd like to use that in a future quilt "someday".

I cannot answer your ironing question, but I just want to be the first to say WOW, it is beautiful!

Always press toward your darker color. You don't want it on the lighter side. Your quilt is beautiful!!!

I agree to iron to the dark side. I also think it is very pretty.

sometimes you must press both ways. or clip as you mentioned. can't always be helped, just depends on the pattern.
sometimes you can clip the darker fabric seam skinner so it won't show through the lighter fabric. but you have a lot of blks. i would just press one row one way and the next the other way, etc.

it is from the pattern 'Nine & Vines' design by Kathy Holland.
if you do not find it on the web let me know, maybe I can scan the pattern and email it to you
