Thank you all for the nice compliments on my Grinch stocking. I love to show my work here because you are all awesome and encouraging, now i have a question, i am going to send a pic of this to my friends and i know someone out there will ask me to make one. What would i charge for it. It takes good amount of fabric (there is waste in the cutting of odd shapes and grinch fabric is pricey) and long time to make especially the ruffle at the top...it was pain to sew on. What is a fair price to charge for one?
    Thanks

Here is a link to my stocking:

I wouldn't take less than $25 for one, even if it is my friends!

I would just say no to friends and leave it as a one-of-a-kind. My feeling is that if you charged appropriately for both materials and labor, your friends might acquire a negative impression!

Personally, in a boutique type of Christmas setting, I think your stocking would sell for something in the $30 to $50 range.....

the (basic) formula for pricing crafts/quilting is:::
    cost of materials x 3
you can adjust from there- how much would you be willing to pay?
it is pretty much impossible to get time out of our craft- but materials x 3 is a (fair standard) for starting pricing.
usually for family if i'm going to charge them for something i only charge for actual cost--what i have into it-
but it is totally up to you what you think is fair.

    This sounds fair.

I would not want to make another one. One of a kind is better.
