How would you place the strips?

I know I need to stablize the quilt top but how would I do this? We are expecting up to 150 people. That is a lot of freezer paper lol. Don't mind but can I do this and still fold the quilt up to get it where it needs to go before signing? How long can I leave the paper on (I would like to do it as soon as possible and it may be 24 to 48 hours) Help! starting to freak

I would cut freezer paper to the size of the white blocks in the white and red section and then iron them on the back. Use and old rotary blade and it should go pretty fast. Then I would iron on strips of freezer paper to the big strips of the white. You should be able to fold the quilt up and take it with you. Then after everyone signs it just peel the freezer paper off. I had individual block done and then people signed and I put them together later. Maybe other people would have suggestions of other ways to stabilize it.

Sorry about the look of the pictures, hopefully you will get the idea. This is based on "Chinese Coins". White strips/white borders will be to sign on and borders will probably be 7 1/2" wide.
Of course when looking at the pictures I noticed I have corrections to make in the order of some strips. :?

I am presuming the people will sign the white strips between the red strips (7 1/2")?? would be a good idea to count the possible signers #s. I like the separation, a little narrower. or maybe a 1"fin. strip of red flowered along the edge of all the vertical strips & red stopper border before a wide flowered border around the whole quilt. red work embroidery could be done with vines, etc down the white separators after the signing is done. or a machine-stitched vine, leaves, etc. will be a lovely rememberence for Mom.
