    I like the separated strips. I think it is more calming to the eye. She will be so tickled

    I like the second one also. Just remind your mom that the fabric might bleed. I goofed once and was just sick. But I love reds ans and white.

    I like the second one too. That is a very nice, thoughtful thing you are doing.
    I also agree with some of the comments above about doing some appliqué
    in the blank white sections. If the occasion is coming fast, you could just
    apply some Steam-a-Seam to a red floral, cut out the flowers and then you would only have to do the stems and a few leaves.-Judy
