As quilter's there will come a time in all of our lives that we will be asked to make a memory, a hug, or a love quilt using the clothing, ties, etc from a deceased loved one. Be it from your own family or a friends, or even a strangers, you will be asked!

I never turn one down...no matter the person, the fabrics, etc.

Some are easier than others, but they are the BEST quilts you will ever make. Mistakes are taken out when you sleep, seams will always match up, borders are never wavy, the colors/fabrics will always match and look great together...because quilts that are made with this much love will NEVER be bad!

Show us what LOVE quilts you have made!

My first one is a actually a mini made with the leftovers from the 3 larger quilts I made. My Dr. in Alaska had a cousin that was killed when a whale hit his boat. I used his clothes to make each of his daughters and his wife a lap/hug quilt and used the left overs to make Doc a memory quilt!

In our family we use clothing to make teddy bears after a loved one has passed on. Flannel shirts and nightgowns make the best ones.

Oh...how beautiful they are. I have to make some from my mom and dad's stuff but am afraid it is still too soon...haven't even been able to cut the clothes yet :(
I also need to make a small one from my DGM's housedresses. I will post pics when I finish my DGM's.

It is always bitter sweet, but get someone in the family to help you...or get a friend...and really enjoy the memories!

I am hoping others have pics to share, too. I am working on a memory quilt right now (just have a few blocks done) and I'm curious what others have done.

All of yours are really good. I love the backing on the first one.
