Hummingbirds of My Own

I also have a family that returns every year to my feeders which are placed right outside my windows where I sew. I can watch them all day right into the dark part of evening.
These feeders also attract Downy Wood Peckers, Titmouse, Whitethroats and wrens. I am so lucky. I think they learn from each other.

I so enjoy watching the hummers. I started feeding them in 2007 and since then, every year, there are more and more that come to the feeders. I make a quart of sugar water every day, since the end of April, and have gone through more than 20 pounds of sugar. It is amazing that they don't collide, they fly so fast.

I found that hanging those little feeders that are made to go with a hanging basket is really good and I hang them from trees.
