If I have something defective I always complain to the manufacturer and have always had it replaced. They don't know there is a problem unless someone tells them. Go to konabay.com and then the contact us tab. Tell them what has happened and they should get back to you.

Fabric will sometimes do this sort of tear if it has been left in the sun for a long time. If the defectiveness was caused on the manufacturing side the company will have had a lot of returns and know that the fault lies with them. Take it in and reasonably point out the problem.Take your 'finished'blocks along as well.If you fall short of getting any satisfaction you might be able to save the blocks you have already done by fusing another material to the underside of the blocks. All the best.

Thank you again for all of your kind words and excellent advice. I will follow that when I go to Joann's, and I will let you all know how it goes. I'll also inform them of all the wonderful quilters standing by my side on this issue!

i had a horrible experience with JoAnn's batting. it was some off of a roll many years back. Two washings and the batting was gone. No signs of bearding, and it must have just disolved
