Just rolled in from MQX and have loads of pics to share. First, the whole reason I went to take a McTavishing class from the most awesome Karen McTavish. If you ever get a chance to attend a seminar, trunk show or class by Karen you absolutely MUST go. Not only is she an amazingly awesome quilter, she is an amazingly awesome person. Fun, outgoing and a great speaker and really funny too!

Interesting bit of trivia, Karen originally called McTavishing "comic book wonder woman hair" when she first posted the technique on an online forum. She got totally shot down by the group with that name and unanimously decided she should call it McTavishing.

I've taken her class a couple of times at Innovations, the second time for the comedic value. She is a very funny, talented, and funny lady!

Have fun at MQX! My daughter has a quilt there, in the Kids Can Quilt section. It has a ribbon on it....!!!!!!

You didn't miss a spot. You just quilted a large tear drop motif into the design.

I met her in Fennimore Wisconsin and found her a very nice person, very down to earth and kind. With the tatoos and the motorcycle she is a free spirit but that is probably whey she is so creative. I had her books and loved to McTavish. It works so well around applique. It is so free.

Her feathers are out of this world

I'm glad you got to take her class. My friend took a class from Dustin something. He quilts in the dark with glow in the dark thread. She said he thought he was a rock star. She didn't enjoy him at all
