p.s. mine is terrible. my son moved out and I boxed up everything because he took the furniture (but left what he didn't want to take) so if I need something I am digging through stuff.

Hubby wanted the keys to the Metropolitan we are selling and I said- empty the box on the floor, it's OK. And he did. He said he never would have found the keys if I didn't tell him exactly which box.

Hoping this week end I will get moving on it again.

Any quilting board members in your area that you know that can come and organize your room for you

    1. you can store your totes under the tables and make a cute table cloth to throw over the table so you don't see them

    2. do you have room for bookcases to help organize your things?
I agree with Craftybear, think vertical storage options. Bookcases, or taller cabinets.

I have two much worse and I've moved three machines to the family room, so now it has the temporary mess. I've vowed to start cleaning the sewing room and the spare bedroom, plus keep only temporary messes in the family room. Keep your mother out of the sewing room. It really isn't that bad, but some family members are like that. For me, it's my oldest daughter.

Hi...firstly I hope you are feeling better. If your knee is really healed then cleaning your room might be really therapeutic but do make sure you really are well enough and that you won't do more damage to it....so take care

I am a bit of a neat freak...can't help it...just am...and what I see in your room is lovely shelf space that is not being utilised...so maybe you could try clearing the shelves and having a sort through, then use one area of the shelves to store folded fabric and use other shelves for books etc.

I tend to initially sort into piles of...keep....charity.. and throw.
Anything that isn't keep take out of the room immediatly and put in piles outside the room....then you just have everything you want to keep left in the room...then sort into fabric, notions, books etc....then away to go.....how I wish you were close...I definatly give you a helping hand...

First of all take care of yourself and concentrate on your recovery.

Don't be ashamed and when Mom comes just close the door. Mine looks much the same. I like Little Roo's suggestions to start.

Looks normal to me. If my sewing room is tidy then theres a problem because that means I'm not doing what I love. About every 2 weeks or so mine looks like yours and I go through and straighten(hide) the mess. With in 48 hours its back to normal.
