    there really is no pattern. I just took a stack of six inch squares and free cut from the bottom corner up to a few inches from the opposite corner on the other side. I repeated this for the other side, bury one on the middle stack, bury two on one of the other stacks, sew them together. That makes one unit of four. The units are trimmed to five inches. Then one block is sewn in a radiating pattern. I then took a 2 inch square and raw edge appliquéd it over the center of the block. The border is just a selection of five inch blocks. The hard part is getting an even distribution of all the fabrics so the colors don't cluster in all one spot. I missed in one place the same fabric butts up. can you spot it?

    Like Lori, this reminds me of the quilt top my Grandma made. I really like your design - you're right, the square in the center brings it all together very elegantly.
