I certainly didn't get offended... just giggled and giggled like a schoolkid. I have a sailor for a hubby, so sometimes he rubs off on me. I knew what the intent was, really. However, it is nothing I would repeat to my class of middle schoolers... heaven forbid! I think it is a blast to hear phrases from other regions of the world.

Thank you, you guys are really good for a girls confidence. You all are inspirational. I promise I won't loose heart.
I'll just keep on the 1000 mile march with the second step.

    I do!!! :D
Me too!! Was actually a little disappointed. Thought it was going to be a joke!

Anyway, Joan Rosemary...do you press as you go? Makes a world of difference in matching up things. I press everything and then press again!

Having said that. A seamstress once told my mom that once you touch an iron to fabric you have taken years off of its life. Guess that means my stuff will be lucky to last out the year!

I tell my students that how does anyone know you didn't mean to do that? There are wonky patterns that are done that way on purpose! It looks fine to me!

Don't be sorry and you have nothing to apologize for. Speak with us as you speak with your family. We share and learn together. I saw the title, when I opened the post I looked for the posters location. I smiled when I saw you were in England because I thought then it was a phrase I had not been introduced to. Don't hold back on us who are from someplace that uses words in a somewhat different way sometimes. I really like the phrase but I think it would be misunderstood if I said it because people would not expect it to be in my sentence.
Now, back to your cock up. (Lovin it!!!! Lovin that you posted it!!!).
    Sincerely, with warm regards,
One of your friends on the Quiltingboard.
