I married a man from England, so I knew what you meant! Personally, for a first block I think you were really adventurous trying that one out, and I think it turned out just fine.

I think 'cock up' comes from the part of a rifle that you raise before you shoot - ie if you leave a rifle with the 'cock up', you can do yourself a mischief! ANd as for the block, it's about a bazillion times better than my first block so if I were you I'd be chuffed to bits with it! Tee hee, wondering if that is a phrase used in the States. :mrgreen:

PS I just did a bit of googling about the derivation of the phrase - gosh and golly, don't put that phrase into google unless you've got a strong stomach! :oops: Anyway, I gave up as it was making me blush but I seem to remember it's to do with guns. :lol: :lol: :lol:
