I envy you the space. I see it is in the basement. Mine is also in the basement and I have no natural light. No matter how many lamps I have it just doesn't seem light enough. What do you do for light.

Lol, LindaR, I do have a tv in my room, it's in my closet on top of my stash dresser! I can see it from my sewing desk. And I spend an extraordinary amount of time in my room because I have everything I need here. LOL!

i noticed something about these rooms....

no matter how much your surfaces are piled and full, and no matter how many boxes and piles are on the floor....

the floor around all the piles and boxes are clean lol
    how is that accomplished.

my floor looks like a train full of threads and scraps wrecked in my area... always lol

i clean and organize, and start sewing again, and its back to what it was in no time lol

in my defense of this, i blame the kitties lol (they seem to really enjoy the bag of pillow stuffing i bought for my 8 yr olds pillows lol)
i seem to have a habit of just shoving scraps aside on my table while cutting until they fall into the floor lol
i have no real excuse for the threads that seem to be EVERYWHERE in the house, but i think they cling to me and like traveling with me as i move from room to room until they find their new home

no, i am not posting pictures. But i do take comfort that i can at least get into my sewing room/area (my grandma cant, too piled full lol)... at least for now lol

I LOVE this thread. When I get home I'll put up pictures of the sewing room me and DH share...2 machines, 2 sewing tables, 1 large cutting table, quilting machine & frame, stash storage in 2 places, books, mags, the works!! The room was our youngest daughter's bedroom until she got married and moved away. We are empty nesters, so we got LOTS of room!!! Good thing...2 quilters make 2 x the mess!!! :-)

So nice that you choose to use the same room. Being empty nesters you each could have your own room.....

But what is the fun in that? No sharing or kibbitzing.

Okay, here's mine. I have been gone for 6 weeks and I don't even know where to start up again. I only have half a room. The other half is our office. But I do have a music system and a TV w/ DVD player, so I am a happy camper. Need to re-organize to get to work.

OK. Here's mine. I came home, changed clothes and took pictures. No clean up done!! I',m one of those who has to do a minimum amount of cleanup when I'm done for the day. DH is not the same, so sometimes his stuff overwhelms the entire space!! :-D Anyway, here's what it looks like when 2 people occupy a sewing space.

My sewing machine is on the left, DH's on the right

I have had a ball reading this thread! (Why did it take me so long to find it???) What a hoot seeing everyone's spaces. You can almost sense the personality of the quilter by peeking into their studios. We'll pyschoanalyze on a later thread. Now that would be fun! Anyway.....here is my space. I'm new to quilting so I have a lot of messing up time and collecting of stash to catch up with the rest of you! Because....believe me, I am not a tidy girl!

My upstairs loft is now MY Place!
