i got the board at Lowe's. had them cut it in half. then i used my electric handsaw to cut the notch for the machine out. it was a challenge getting it straight, but a little sanding, then stain, then varnish, and it was done!

thanks for the compliments! i use this machine almost as much as my Janome!

they would only make a single straight cut at my local Lowe's. i got the electric handsaw pretty cheap at menards.

how about your local high school shop class?

[quote=fabricluvr]it was easier than i anticipated it to be! purchase the board, have them cut it, cut out the 'notch' with an electric handsaw, cut the legs from a 1.5" dowel rod, add the leveling feet, stain, and varnish!

    yay me!

Looks great but why do you need a bigger space there.. ? What do you use if for? I am sure once you tel me I will need one too;)

i don't like working over the 'hump'. it's much easier/accurate to have the larger flat surface. :)

There was a man that made the wood tables and sold them on EBay. They had easy access to the underneath bobbin area. I don't remember his seller name but they were very reasonable price about $40.
