I've had a hideous past two weeks so I really needed a pick-me-up. A little girl, a friend of a friend's daughter, died of a disease transmitted by a mosquito just two weeks ago so I spent that next week working on a benefit for her but the morning of the benefit, my favorite aunt died so I've been a zombie this week. This morning though, I had to get out to finally stock up on the basic needs of a household like milk and bread, especially since I have two DD's, ages 7 and 9, and they still need to be fed. On the way home, my youngest saw a garage sale and quietly asked if we could stop, probably thinking that this one thing would spark more tears but she couldn't help herself since she loves garage sales. There was nothing for kids to her dismay, but there was plenty for me! There was a box of sewing patterns and I got the box for a dollar, and then there was a tote under the table. It was filled with fabrics, some quilting, some costume and plenty for garments. I got the whole 33 gallon tote filled with fabric for $3!

I paid the ladies running the sale and went to pull the van around to load the tote. As I was approaching I saw the ladies closing the lid on the tote and carrying it toward me but didn't think anything of it. When I got home, I opened the tote to take a picture and realized they had thrown in a few crafting/sewing books, a few extra bundles of corduroy and a whole bag of tulle! In our area, there's not a lot of sewing shops and so I have never found garage sale find like this before but I'm so glad I did today!

Thank you everyone. It's been a tough couple weeks but this one stop at a garage sale was a good way to get back "into the routine" with my girls. We haven't been doing much of our "normal" stuff all week. Even if we had found nothing today, I think the girls would've been happy to just be doing something they were used to before Mommy became sad. They really don't quite understand since they were still young and don't remember Aunt Kay the way I do.
