I have a bag of diamond shapes that my grandmother cut out before she died back in 1945. As i read the different threads over the time, someone reminded me that when i sew these diamonds together to pay attention to the straight of grain and bias.....Trying to not sew 2 bias sides together.
I am paying attention and looking forward to seeing what i end up with when i am done..I'm off the next 2 weeks and i would love to finish the top....We will see how far I get - and on Monday, i'm headed to the quilt store to get a solid white/cream/off white color to put between the star shapes
The quilt will go to my mom when i'm finished...

She really did have an eye for color - and she liked blue because the majority of the pieces are various shades of blue. My mom's favorite color is blue, and so is mine. As i put the stars together, I am starting w/ those that there are the least of.
I'll definitely keep you updated - my mom is one of my biggest cheerleaders and i am keeping this a secret from her. Isn't too hard since she lives 250 miles away :D
