    Shorttimer, yep it has needle up/down feature, needle threader and a start/stop button if you don't want to use the pedal. It has a 310 stitch library. I picked a separate quilting kit that included walking foot and 1/4 foot. The table is part of the package. Here's a link if you want to send it to your friend. It's a lot of machine for the cost.

    She's pretty! Just a thought on a carry case. I picked up a scrapbooking rolling tote at a garage sale for $10 that retailed for $90. I have a Janome 360QDC that is about the size of yours & everything fits in it quite nicely, even supplies & fabric for classes. You might give that a thought if $$ is a concern.
