I love the quilting as it is in the book, but didn't want to ruin the effect of my "poker chip" look. I think a combination of machine/hand quilting would work. Stitch in the ditch and outline with the machine and handquilt something in the center of the hexagons? I do love your colors, though! They are so pretty whatever placement you decide will be beautiful.

Oh yeah, no way was I telling him it was an Amish Wedding Ring....no telling what he might have done with it LOL

I love the quilting as it is in the book too but I don't think I can handle that myself. I think I will end up doing as you suggested and stitch in the ditch around the seams and hand quilt the blank centers of the hexagons with a bright thread. My daughter has suggested smiley faces or peace signs. ....Sigh....

Really intricate, but you'll be proud when it's finished. Plus your daughter will treasure it forever. Just take your time and don't worry about when it'll be finished. It's beautiful!!

Now Lori...I think the peace signs would be really cute! Her taste might change over the years and the quilt might not always be center stage though....now if you did something like a cool art deco design...it might not get religated to the closet (after it was much loved of course)...I still love it!

I will definately try to scan the pattern into my computer so I can post it. Question......should I post it here or is there a better place for that sort of thing?

Lori...I hate to throw a damper on your generous offer to share a pattern, but is it copyrighted? Most are...and if so, you should not post it...it would be against the copyright laws. You might want to check into it further before you post. You can however post a link to where it is offered for sale

:D and I'm sure lots of us would go buy it!
