Default I love the Thrift Store!

Went to the Post Office, library, and just had a feeling to stop at the Thrift Store to check for scrap fabric...made a haul on corduroy...I have collected quite a bit and am going to make a big patchwork throw for the couch when I get enough...may be getting close...The two stacks on the left I got at the thrift store today for $3. plus some more pieces of interesting scraps...they were having a bag sale so you could get everything you could stuff in the bag for $3. I stuff pretty good....LOL The larger pieces on the right are the ones I bought previously.

Adding a couple of pic's of my pitiful efforts at free motion quilting...the back has the big wads of thread where I forgot to put the lever down and it really screwed it up....I scanned the fabric I'm going to use then printed a couple of 8 x 11 copies on plain fabric to make practice ones before I tried the real thing...Good thing I did...probably have to print a bunch more.... My foot has a mind of its own when it comes to speed...reminds me of learning to drive a car...my poor dad....LOL

You are so lucky, our thrift store won't take in fabric.

Great haul! Your FMQing looks like you're getting the job done. Probably if you just slow down some,it'll be easier. I have a speed regulator and put it on medium speed, which helps me. It'll all be easier with more practice.

Congratlations on your fabric score! Your FMQing looks good and once you get the tension worked out it will be great.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who forgets to put the presser foot down when I have the hopping foot attached! I do it at least once on every quilt and end up unsewing a lot.

Anyone having any input about tension or anything else I'd love to hear....I was trying black on top and white on bottom and it didn't work out very well.... don't have a speed regulator especially my mind of it's own foot...LOL but I'll keep trying and hoping it will cooperate...not on a time table so will keep practicing....thanks

Corduroy works really well in a rag quilt too. I haven't made one with just corduroy, but I mix it with flannel all the time.
