    I have made tons of them. Glad to see you are doing the faces by the old pattern. The new stuff is awful. I always embroidered the faces & heart on both. I love them. I still have mine that my grandmother made for me as a child. They are stiil my favorite & you did a nice job. :thumbup:

    That was the first thing I thought of when I saw him. What no heart! LOL so yes I do believe he had a heart. How cute! My mom used to make them also.

    Both of my dolls have hearts. I still have the ones my Godmother made me when I was born. A little worse for the wear, but still sitting in my sewing room.

    I use to sew the hair directly on the head but I made a frame out of cardboard where I could wind the loops around it & sew down the middle with the machine & them wind finished product around a piece of cardboard & just take the end & place on head & start sewing it on. I too used the old McCalls patterns that make all sizes & do the legs as Shelbie does. That 10 in is a doosey as being so small is hard to sew & stuff. I still have striped material for legs as you never when you made need to make one. Guess we all will always love them. I wish there was a machine embroidery pattern for them.
