    I like your kitty with shadows as it is and ripping out just never appeals to me. When I was in school somewhere along the line we learned about how to shadow the ABC's. You decide whether you want your shadow on the top and the right sides of all letters or the bottom and the left of all letters. Try it on paper and see how it looks to you.

    Don't you dare pick up that ripper. I am a firm believer that we are guided by the dearly departed in some things we do. Dolly loves it just the way it is. She helped you quilt this. So be happy in the memories you have of her and know that she had a "paw" in making this quilt.

    It is so hard to loose a loving pet. So sorry for your loss. Your quilt is spot on. I'd be willing to bet if you stand back away from it, you will see the effect you were looking for
