    I think white or off white always looks better for the GFG,
    it allows the fabrics to show up better. If a fabric color is used the pieces are lost. For the border, sashing, binding I would use a burgundy print, or introduce a forest green with
    burgandy print. :thumbup:

    You can alternate different shades of white tonal fabric, I do this quite often.

    I like the white better; but I did see someone on this site using grayish pebbly fabric which looked like garden paths. I'm big on gardens and paths...
    Love Grandma's garden and started one but find I have more patience in my actual garden.
