At first glance, I thought my choice would be the white one.
But, then after looking at the black one & thinking it over, I
sort of think the black one would blend nicely with all of the
other black & white quilt blocks. I say go for it!! BLACK!!

I'm going to have to go back to the white background...and ohhh...I have 2 black cats, a white/black one, and a gray...so..I'll have cat hair patina on it no matter what!

They both look good though! Don't obsess too much..the process is supposed to be fun and a swap is just extra fun because the friends are more important than the block.

Now..I have to go cut mine out!!

Glad I am not the only one who liked the black. Putting both together would be good.

I like both and just invisioned a quilt with a red one in the center and then rows of both of these around the center. Like a trip around the world, but with these friendship stars. Just one red on white in the center. I love black and white, but all my b/w quilts have a touch of red somewhere in them. Must be the Canadian French heritage.

I like the black background the best. Black just seems to make things pop.

very nice piecing on both of them.
I like the light backround. But the black background is nice to.
The friendship star is my very favorite block. Make all different colors, they go great together.

Your daughter is right don't obess, enjoy what your making.
    Hope you sleep better tonight.

The white background would be my preference; however a combination of both would look great.
