I bought this kit in Seattle before getting on the ship for an Alaskan cruise. I think it is the first kit I ever bought. Any way I wanted something new to work on this weekend so pulled it out Friday afternoon and sewed it together Friday night and Saturday morning. I did not like a couple of the I spy fabrics, so I put in a couple that I had. Of course the kit did not have the same fabrics as the pattern. I also really dislike the fabric for the binding, it just does not feel right so I am going to use something from my stash
I'm thinking of giving this quilt to my Mother in Law. She treated all us "kids" to the cruise. That's her 3 children and spouses. We had a great time, saw lots of great sights.
It's her birthday September 8 but we will be getting together with her and the other siblings on the 19th of September (day before my b-day) I am going to try and have it fully completed by then
This is just a top, so far.

    Very very nice!

I have the same pattern, but without the fabrics. What you've done is awesome. :-)

Love the quilt. What a wonderful way to save the memories of the trip, and a thoughtful gesture to the woman who made it possible.

Hey, your birthday is very near mine. I'm on the 17th. I think I'm 'several' years older though.
