Default "I spy" Chinese coins lap quilt

Here is my latest lap quilt. It measures 48 x 60. The material for the front as well as for the back came from a co-workers friend. She has given me quite a a lot of her "scraps" which I'll be using to make charity quilts for kids. I just love the backing for this quilt. I still have several pieces of it, so I'll have backings for several more quilts. I hope you like the quilt. I had to resize the pics, so hope they come out all right for you.

Your quilt is beautiful and will be well loved by some child! The back is nice, too!

Love it ! Someone will really be happy to get this quilt. I would like to make a small quilt about that size and I am wondering what is the best way to put the backing together with 45" material ? Should you sew a seam up and down or across ? was this quilted by hand or on a machine ? really like this quilt .

It was quilted by machine - very simple quilting. I used a template on the outside border. I was lucky with this one, the material I used for the backing just fit the quilt I was making (I was given several pieces of the backing).
Many times I will also piece the backing for a quilt, since I'm trying to cut down on the amount of money I spend on these charity quilts. I love to piece and quilt, but just can't afford to spend so much on the charity quilts. I got the roll of48 x 60 batting on sale at JoAnn's for $10 and used the $10 gift certificate I got when th store had it's Grand Opening!

What a cheerful quilt -- both sides! I'm sure some little one will be thrilled to get this little gem!
